Children's Creative Climate Camp - a great successChildren’s Creative Climate Camp ended Saturday, 5 December with a major event attended by the mayor of Ballerup Municipality, Ove Dalsgaard, and Dorit Arvidsen from Rødovre city council, along with representatives from embassies and other. The children performed with dance and music from the stage while others showed their work in octagonal cubes placed on the floor of the great Super Arena. The day ended with a big party for the participants where the dance floor was filled with happy children from many different countries.
From Wednesday, December 2nd to 5th December there have been a lot of activities for children from early morning to late evening. 225 children from 11 different countries have worked together with 15 artists in workshops building their version of a “new world”. Together the children expressed their thoughts and dreams about the future. See COP15 video... In addition there have been sports activities organised by foreign students from Gerlev Sport Academy, guided tours to Grantoftegaard (organic farm), Vestforbrænding (recycling plant), Rødovre Recycling Centre, Herstedhøje (nature school) and Heerup Museum. The foreign children have also been on a sightseeing tour to Copenhagen. After these busy days all foreign participants have now returned to their homes with a lot of impressions and a great experience richer.
